It has to be said -

This is completely off the topic of Swinburne, but it needs to be said. If you don't like it (and I don't see how you could not like it), then feel free to delete this post.

As we all know, the multiple tsunamis around the Indian Ocean have had devistating consequences for many, many people. The death toll is astonishing, and the missing toll even more so. The destruction and death in this part of the world is causing the disease rate to climb to epidemic proportions. There is not enough food and medicine to treat the survivors of this terrible tragedy, and it is up to us as fellow human beings to help.

If you would like to donate money to help the victims of this horrific event, please visit www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/asiapcf/12/28/tsunami.aidsites/ and pick an aid organization. Any penny you can contribute will be of great help.

Humans are not the only victims effected by this terrible event, though. Endangered sea turtle habitats have been virtually destroyed and thousands of sea turtles have been killed as a result of this horrific event. Conservation programs are vital to the world's sea turtle population's survival, but the dead halt in tourism in that region of the world has left these wonderful programs without the funding they need to rebuild. We, as fellow creatures of our wonderful earth, cannot let the world's sea turtles perish.

If you would like to help rebuild the sea turtle conservation programs effected by the tsunamis, please visit www.seaturtle.org and make a donation.

This is a green sea turtle, one of the many species of endangered sea turtles that these programs benefits.

To all of you who have already donated to aid organizations and other charities helping victims of the tsunamis, thank you.
